So what happens when your EPS fails?

When your EPS fails, are you getting any extra horses under that hood?

I can't tell any differnce.

why would a failure in the Power Steering give you any additional HP???
To answer your question: NO, it does not.

Just thought it would be less stess on the alt. pulley thats all...less current drawn usaly means more hp..

Just wondering though.

I know, I cant help that I have a snazy name

hi,i have mazda 2 2011 EPS is my problem..EPS was ligth on in the panel board...can i know what can i do to remove the EPS ligth on the panel board..so the power steering works OK.tnx

Yes, to fix light that stares at you so brilliantly, you must first do the thing your brain does not comprehend. Take car, you must, to dealer of Mazda's, as help you, they will.

You're right. Don't listen to those fools. When the power steering pump is running, it is drawing current from the electrical system, which the alternator has to provide. The more current the alternator is providing, the more torque it applies to the accessory pulley.

A power steering system is not really a big power drain though, so you're not likely to notice improved acceleration. And of course, the power steering only creates a load when it's helping you turn the steering wheel...
