So what do you guys do with your midpipes?

Ok strange title, I know, but I couldn't really say what I want without making a massive title lol. Anyway, I was wondering, for those of you who have inspections w/ emissions monitoring, what do you guys do with your midpipe?

I was thinking about going midpipe when I get my exhaust. Here in CT they do inspections every 2 years so I figure I can install, and swap whenever its time for my inspection. But I wondered if that was too much of a pain in the @$$.

What do the rest of you do?

You have to put your stock cat... is a PITA but you have too... when you removed for the 2nd time is easier... the last time I remove mine took me about 20 minutes

Its easy to swap, or just make friends with whoever does your inspections... as long as you have the cobb AP you dont need to worry about passing the plug in test... only the visual... and those resonators 'look' like cats...

PS... im kind of local... PM me if you want some more specific info on where to go or who to talk to

In Texas they are not too bad and I have the Cobb now but every town has someone who will do it regardless.

go with the midpipe and save your old cat for tests. It's completely worth it.

yeah, if you are never planning on getting a cobb go for the aforementionned instead of straight/midpipe

That is a great alternative but I have heard a lot about the internal of the high flow cats going very fast. I will prolly have to do more reading but if that's the case then it would just be cheaper to go straight pipe

If you want a high flow...that lasts...you pay

Although the Davisport one seams to be lasting well for a decent price

Easiest thing is to swap back your stock CAT for emissions if you can live with the no CAT smell on a daily basis

Yea I was actually looking at the Davisport, seems like it is the best bang for the buck. Haha actually to be honest, I dont mind the smell at all... love that toxic pollutant smell lol.... then again, i love the smell of gasolene when im pumping
