So a local shop is offering a free turbo kit..
And all I gotta do is install it and document the procedure. Not a problem.
Honestly, I wouldn't even consider this except its free. And I love a deal.
"04-10 Mazda RX-8 - Greddy Turbo Kit
Conditions: Pick up only. We would prefer a mechanically savvy person for this project. Must provide write up of installation process and results, photos included. In car and outside car video will be provided."
I know that kit has some weaknesses. But.. free.
Should I bite and put this on my 09 R3?

well, to the best of my understanding the Greddy kit isnt very good without some upgrades. add to that the fact that it was designed for series 1 rx-8's and the fact that you are still under warranty, i wouldnt do it unless you have the cash on hand for a new engine.

tuning would be your biggest obstacle. there ARE ways to tune it, but none that have been publicly tried or documented here, and none that are acceptable methods IMO. You'd be on your own finding a tuning solution, adapting it to work properly if needed, and probably doing the actualy tuning as well
