So I lost my only key...

$350 later from a local security shop and I have 2 generic keys that are not the switchblade type and I have no keyless entry FOB. I dont have a Mazda dealer in my town (90 miles away) and I didnt want to pay for towing, so this was my best option.

What is the best way to get the switchblade key + FOB combo? I think I am able to program them now, Mazda wants like $300 just for the key and FOB. Do the ones on eBay work?

Yes I learned a valuable lesson.

Yes, the ebay FOBs work, as long as you make sure to get one with the same FCC ID that your car needs.

Is there a chart or something that I can look at to find it?

Not that I'm aware of, though if you post your model year and trim, I'm sure someone else with the same configuration would be willing to give you the right ID number from their key.

Mine is a 2005

FCC ID: kpu41788
IC ID:4238a-41788

From a quick search, this will work on 05-11 models.

Dont hold me to that as that was just a quick search. You might want to call Mazda and see if they will give you the info as well.

And as before, Trim can certainly matter. There is a difference between the Sport, Touring and/or GT keys in a number of years.
