so i locked my keys inside...

yeah i was washing my car today, and i was armoralling the insides of my doors. and i think when i was cleaning i must have pushed the locks in. and anyways, my keys are sitting on my drivers seat, with my valet key inside the glove box. and my spare set is a very long drive away. is there any way i can open it up, without damaging anything?

Believe it or not, your first mistake wasn't locking the keys in the car, it was using armorall... ( https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...72&postcount=7 )

If you have a local dealer, they can program you a key for you if you supply the VIN, I don't have any other suggestions though.

The Mazda 800 number supports unlock too.

Call them and they will send out AAA (at least in my case they did) and they will get into your car for you.

I did this last Friday, and they came out and let me in like it was nothing.

Interesting to watch too. I did check the door a couple of times to be sure it still shut flush... which it did.

Felt like a real idiot. And spare key was in Oklahoma with the wife (the valet key was stolen in a breakin).

If the dealer has keys on hand, they just need a vin to look up the info to program the key. I've never done it before, but I would think it wouldn't take more than 10 mins.

Why would your car have a release to bypass the locks? If there was one, why bother with the door locks in the first place?

And I answered your questions, meanwhile you're the one getting upset and calling names.

What's wrong with pointing out that armorall sucks monkey nuts? Major stockholder in it or something?

Just call the Mazda 800 number.

And go get a beer while you wait. That will let you come up with snappier answers like

"I could always find my keys too, if I kept them up my &^% like you do!".

Work on the snappy come backs or these guys will eat you alive!

Well, there is a trunk release, but you have to figure out how to lock yourself in the trunk first.

Yes, in your glovebox. It's with the manual and other paperwork that comes with the car.

Calm the hell down. If you are in such desperate need to get inside your car do what a normal person would do -- open a phone book and call one of those pop-a-lock type places. This isn't hard. You have a very limited set of options. If you need the Internet to tell you that, you need some new friends.

If it's life or death (small kid strapped in a hot car), just smash the window. They don't cost all that much to replace.
