Oh yea and I asked one of the service guys how much its would coust me to get new rotors and brakes all the way around. He said the pads would run $180 and each rotor would be $180 no including labor.
steamed............. So they are not open on Sundays. Guess what? I'm going to stop by and take some photos of them for you to see. My point is. The 3 6 and minivans dont have the rust or the pick up trucks just the 8's?...

Are you referring to the hubs on the rotors? Mine are fine but I have a June 04 build date. I have seen rusted hubs on many 8s however. If you are referring to the entire rotor the rust will be on the rotor surface where the pads rub on and stop the car. Mine rust up if I wash the car and shoot the wheels to clean them. I can drive it a few miles and the rust is gone. I think at a dealership the cars are washed, put on the lot and the rotors rust until someone tests drives it. I would not have the dealer replace my rotors for rust. They are expensive and so you want to get normal wear out of them. There are rotor rust threads on here if you do a search and I think its in the DIY pages. Many have painted theirs and it looks pretty good for painting the hubs and the calipers. There is special heat caliper paint out there that makes them look pretty good. Mine are metal looking and so I am leaving them that way until I get tired of it and then I will paint the calipers red.

Good luck. Dealers just love to take our money rather than explain this is a common issue.

My hubs are showing a tiny bit of rust....... the more I read about it here, the more I really notice it.........one of these days when it finally gives me the *****, I'll whinge and complain to the dealer for a warranty claim.
