The cherry on top... I have a 2003 Ford Explorer @ 455 a month payment. 10K was left on the loan at 14%. I got the car so far under bluebook, I told them to payoff my 10K loan and add it to the sales cost of the RX8. Then I put 5K down to eat some of the negative equity. All said and done I financed 23K @ 6% and am paying $400 a month ($55 less) and kept the explorer fully paid off

The secret is finding the car you want a dealership that doesnt deal in that car type. A friend just got a Chevy truck at a Kia dealership, paid almost nothing. This Mercedes dealer flips cars so fast they wanted the space even after only having it on the lot two weeks. All I said was sell it to me or it sits on the lot. A few counter offer phone calls later and its mine. Also tell them exactly what you expect to pay, dont let them set the price. They had the 8 listed at 16,999 w/o tax. I LO-BALLED hard saying 15750 including taxes. He countered 18.1 w taxes, I countered 17.5 w tax but swung the Explorer deal into the mix as well.

Two weeks ago I was about to pay $15K for a 2006... Thank you IRS for delaying my tax return!!

How ever you want to breakdown worth vs price, I also got a free car out of it. My explorer is now paid off, in my name, and I reduced my interest rate by 55%.

Maybe you should start smoking, seems to work for me (medical purposes only)
