i actually prefer the looks of a single tip, dual exhaust looks wierd on a car thats not a v8 IMO, the hole can be covered up with some black mesh in the back to look less conspicuous, i just left mine open though, you can see my shock thru it haha

honestly tho its whatever floats your boat, i personally love the sound and the weight reduction is nice also

Yeah 8maniac was telling us the story of how his parents had to drive his car (HKS and catless midpipe) and they were staying a nice hotel on the riverwalk and were totally embarrassed pulling into the valet area because there was a hill and his dad had to rev a bit to get up

Mine is way too loud for my next trip to Ruth Chris but it will be fixed soon enough. But I do love the off throttle burbling that occurs, it's so lamboish.

This is how I feel as well. I really love the sound of the HKS Hi-Power, but I'd never be able to give up an exhaust tip. It'd just look awkward, if you ask me.

If how it looks without the other tip is such a big concern for you, then you should purchase the Agency Power catback.

Just throwing it out there; with a block of Styrofoam and some fiberglassing stuff you could fill out the 2nd exhaust hole in your bumper for pretty cheap.

Make the mold by shaving styrofoam, and just fiberglass it outside your car at your own leisure. Longest part will be getting a good finish, lots of bondo and sanding. Plastidip is a pretty easy thing to paint the plastic trim with (since you're not going to be able to perfectly match the rough trim finish).

Just a thought if it really bugs you to have the hole.

Dual, It's more sporty looking. It fits the car too well.

Although the single would be less weight, it looks cheaper though.

Hey Dozer how is running a stock cat-back with a mid-pipe? Increase in noise/power?

It depends on what you want. I'm waiting for TurboXS to modify their current exhaust set up to include a dual resonated mid-pipe (their exhaust is pretty much the best as far as power gains go, but just way too loud). If that doesn't fall through then I'm looking into going for a catless mid-pipe with the stock cat-back. Better power and not the ridiculous price of some cat-backs.

Man, I just installed my single res mid-pipe with a stock exhaust and it is loud. The HKS single tip sounds maybe the best out of all the exhausts IMO. But it is loud as hell and thinking about it with a straight pipe is just nuts. I'm not one to give a **** about practicality at all... but I also drive at night in south florida...

The HKS with paired with the cat is surprisingly quiet, when you want it so.

I just ordered the HKS Hi-Power myself, waiting on it to arrive. Loved the sound of it, and personally I really like the looks. Something about single outlets on a car that started dual is just cool to me. Especially since the RX8 isnt true dual anyways.

I love my hks but its starting to get annoying.
Especially 40 minute drives to school this fall.. no bueno in Irvine, CA..

Thinking of going racing beat myself.

The HKS is 3in piping and flows better than stock, but im sure the gain isn't AS much as a 3in piping with dual outlet.

The HKS is the loudest I would go. Adding a midpipe is nutzo..

Any fans of exoticspeed r1-t? I haven't met anyone with an exoticspeed to really hear what it sounds like (besides youtube), but I'm in the market for an exhaust.

Teamrx8 covered the exhaust shrouds neatly. Maybe he could make and sell a few.
