I've done a search, but haven't found out exactly which versions of '04 RX8's (if any) have the shock sensor feature on the alarm. One reference I saw seemed to indicate that the GT package includes that feature, but I'm not sure. Can anyone enlighten me?

 

The shock sensor is an option and does not come standard on any model rx8

 

One of the reasons I'm asking is a data sheet from the upcoming '08 RX8 that has been recently posted that shows that the shock sensor is included in the GT and 40th anniversary '8s. Just wondering if it was also included on previous year's GT versions as well.

 

How do I add shock sensor to the car?
The door alarm and immobilizer is good but still, shock sensor is a nice feature. (if they work right.)

 

Aren't aftermarket alarms better than the stock alarms or are they about the same?

 

I added one to mine. It wasnt hard but, some wires are confusing tho. Cuz there are 2 wires of the same color existed but is not the same purpose. I almost cut the wrong one. I rechecked everything and found out that I was so close in messed up my car.

No Rx8 comes with Shock Alarm sensor standard. MOST cars's shock alarm sensor is an optional item.

it depends. I mean if they wanna steal your car, no matter how *good* your alarm is, they can still jack it. A shock sensor is more than enough.

In NYC people steal cars with a stolen tow truck ... which alarm can beat a tow truck ?

 

Shock sensor is N/A for '08 RX-8 GT and 40th Ann., not standard on those package, just N/A
