that's something the prior owner did. No RX-8's were ever sold with wood trim.

In my opinion woodgrain trim does not fit the design of an RX8. In a Mercedes or Cadillac ok, in an RX8 no f-ing way! Wow that rhymes! :0

it appears to be one of those wood grain kits.
when done properly, they can look quite nice. I had something similar done on my mazda 626

As long as you like it, congrats.

it's a vinyl overlay kit. sold from vinyl shops and ebay.
70 bucks on ebay currently, did a seach "rx8 vinyl dash" on google and it was the third or fourth link

If it looks good then keep it, it's the first one i've ever seen done in wood grain on an rx8.

Looks installed correctly but my Shinka in the garage just cried a little .... if you like it leave it... if not get a spray can of adhesive remover, some rags, and all surface cleaner. Then please remove it.....KthxBy

PS.... no offense intended...

so fake wood is luxury?
on a Bentley with real wood yes.
on a sports car with stickers not so much.

Yeah you know it's not bad... the black exterior I think pulls it off nicely. Not my cup of tea but it looks like it was installed well.
