What's the big deal about the "piano black" interior trim on Shinka models anyway? As for as I can tell (and please prove me wrong if I am) it's the same glossy black-lacquer painted plastic that comes standard on Mazda 3s. (I have also seen it as trim on base BMW 3-series with no wood/aluminum/other accents)

Are we just victims of marketing or is there something I'm missing? (if so, please post pics!)

 

I thought the 8 had 'piano black' trim already around the window controls and the HVAC/ICE units?

 

I think the Shinka's come with a few additional pieces. A couple are on the steering wheel underneath the cruise and stereo controls. All the 8's come with piano black trim.
