Shift ****
I was told by the dealership that the shift **** does not come off by itself and the whole shifter has to come off to replace the ****. Sounds kinda ridiculous to me, is this true?

Wait is this on an auto or manual transmission?
The manual shifter screws off by twisting it.
I'm not certain about the auto **** though.
lol...its a manual....I already got the dealership to commit to replacing the ****...it was scratched when i got it.
