Question I need your opinions about whole body paint

So, I have all kind of damages on my '04 lightning yellow:
- Got keyed, making an X shape approx. 8 inches long on the driver front fender.
- Rear bumper paint is cracked, seems that it was hit slowly from behind (there are some hit marks too.)
- Another X shape (18 inches) on the hood, this time you'll only able to see it under direct lighting, just like it was scrubbed using harsh kitchen scrub.
- Huge ding on pass. side fender (was hit by a motorcycle and he ran away)
- Pass. side rear fender has a big area of chipped paint
- Wavy hood, someone huge must've sat on it
- Chipped paint inside the grill, door handles, and other panels, some small dings, etc.

My only good panels are the top and the trunk. And yes, the paint is kind of dull atm (old owner parked on the street + seattle's weather.)

I've been thinking to take it to the shop and have it fully repainted. I have insurance but I won't be covered because they are all old damages (except for the big fender damage.)

Question: If i got it fully repainted (whole-body) do you guys think it's worth it with my car's condition? Is it gonna affect the resale value of the car later on? Considering people might think this car was on huge accident so it needs to be fully repainted, bla bla bla.

Thanks!

Well if ur plan is 2 sell it down the road then yeah u might wanna repaint her so u can get ur $$ worth. But if u do repaint her, u might not want 2 part with ur '8 cuz once u see what she's supposed 2 look like u'll fall in love all over again. I guess the previous owner never asked 4 the paint protection package, hope he got undercoat and rust protection?

Well, I don't plan to sell it and honestly i want her to looks good, again.
About the paint protection thing, I'm not really sure. Is there any way that I can check it?

Painting it should increase the resale value. 2 things people don't want when buying a car are damaged paint, and yellow. It's just not a popular color. If you don't plan to sell then respraying yellow is fine - it's yours after all. If there's any chance you will sell it you should consider going with some other color.

Thx for the replies

After thinking for a while, I think I'm going for whole respray. At first, I was confused whether I should have the panels fixed + painted then get it matched with the other panels VS fixed + whole body repaint, which of course more expensive but I wouldn't have to worry about the color shift.

Incorrect. To an informed buyer, a fully re-painted body that appears clean would have a lower value then a car in the condition you are expalining. As you said, it will appear as it was in a major accident or two.
Paint it if you are going to keep it, and enjoy it more in the process, leave it if you plan to sell it. The future owner can paint it if desired, adn will at least know what they have on their hands.

I would never buy a car for myself that had paint work on non-plastic body pieces. My rear bumper had paint work, but the rear quarters and trunk were original, and therefore I "KNOW" the reason the back bumper was painted was minor.
