Angry seek advice on deep scratch

My baby was scratched while minding it's own business in the garage. A hammer was dropped on it. I want to fix or have it repaired to where it's not noticeable. I thought maybe since it is not metal and is rubber or plastic, that I could possibly layer my scratch and fix paint on it. Should I try or just spend the money to get it right. I have had nothing but good advice on this sight. I am attaching pics and am wondering how costly it would be to get it done at a body shop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trust me, I know what you are feeling. A ding in my door cost me $75 and it was worth every penny. If you are not proficient at bodywork I would take it to a pro. If it were me I'd spend the money and be done with it. Next time you wash her you want even see a mark.

Your hammer has gouged the plastic and brush-on touchup paint is not going to repair the damage to the plastic. At best you can camoflage it so it's less visible from several feet . If you sand it at all you'll expand the area to be brush-painted and make it more noticeable. Metallic touchup paint is tough to work with in a big repair because it never reflects light back the same way the rest of the area around it does.

A professional repair to like-new will fill in the gouge and repaint the entire bumper cover. About 2 days and $500 where I live (So. Ohio), YMMV.

Try the touch-up/fill-in route and see if you can live with it.

you have to prep it then fill in the gouge before you paint it.

Then clear coat it.

A "Good" place that will fill it, repaint and blend, etc etc.. about 500+ at least. You might be able to just buy another person's front bumper that bought an aftermarket kit...

The reason you wouldn't buy a new bumper for 400+ is that it isn't painted. Thus, 500+ to fix and repaint isn't that unreasonable. Paint is the key!!

You can go to a ghetto cheap place and they'll charge you 200 bucks, but trust me, the work will show.
