Second Gear Grinding?

I was driving today and tried to put it in second and noticed a scaping noise like it was grinding into gear without the clutch and a resistance to be put into second. It can put it in second while stopped and even take off from second but no downshifts or upshifts. What could this be and how much do you think it will be to have fixed.

For now its 1st to third

Also another thing i noticed is going up a hill about 3 miles into it my engine will bog down so bad it will take 4-5 seconds to rev it in neutral, and the engine temp is normal. There also seems to be a rattley noise when this happens. 70,000 Miles should i take it in?

I've been driving for ~10,000 miles and havn't had problems with it. What could be wrong. I'm ignorant when it comes to transmission.
This has been a really bad day for me.

I would definetly take it in. My car is currently in for a 4th gear grind and i'm getting my tranny replaced. Do you have an extended warranty ?

when you rev it high in first, the shift to second is more difficult. a double clutch eliminates it.

but a short shifter helps a lot too. try getting one of those.

honestly, i think the synchro is set for less aggressive driving, if that makes sense.

mine grinds a lot when the car is cold, was the car completely warmed up? Dont sweat it man, your syncro is prob going bad, it happens. Start getting some price quotes and double clutch for now so you dont damage gears.

so it's only second gear ? I was thinking maybe clutch pedal bracket but not if it's only second.

It's definetly going to be expensive if you go to the dealership and they have to rip the tranny apart.

I'm taking mine in towards the end of next month to get looked at for the same types of problems. Good luck with getting it repaired!

Ok, the shifter must be pulled towards you. Have the elbow hit your rib cage. It's not straight back.

Do not granny shift this is not a Toyota or Honda, you can not barley touch the shifter and move it.

Going up hill problem is classic example of clogged CAT. Debis in Cat is moving and blocking the exhaust.

Explain to dealer, tell them to take off CAT look inside.

Only way to inspect the CAT. There is no cell for bad CAT.

However my dog can kill it for you!

Sorry to bump this topic, but i have the cat out of the car now that the transmission is dropped. Is there any way to test the ct to see if its bad? I don't want to replace it for no reason. It doesn't look smashed or melted from what i can see (the honeycomb).
