Hi folks,

I used to drive an RX-7 and slobber over the RX-8s, but can't swing it yet. I really love the seats in the RX-8, and was thinking about using them in a hot rod project car I'm working on.

If possible, can someone please give me the measurements of the front seats?

I'm specifically looking for:

• the seat cushion height off the floor (front and back),
• the seat width (at its widest point), and
• the seat back height from the floor.

I sure hope you guys can help me out. I have a line on a complete set of leather seats. What do you guys think is a reasonable price for them?

I'm not at home, so won't be able to help....but in 7 hours, when I do get home...I'll help ya out.

 

If it's a project car you're working on, you can "make" them fit.

 

That's not what he was asking for, though...

The seats have adjustments that change these dimensions. Some cars have power seats with even more adjustability. You need to specify at lowest, highest, middle, etc.

 

I was just going to do where mine is, as it's a happy medium :p Cloth seats ftw. I don't imagine it would be too different from leather, eh?

 

I've only sat on the cloth seats once. I think the height adjustment is the greatest difference other than than infinite front/back and seatback movement.

The leather power seats can raise/lower front and back separately. I think the non-power just have one lever that raises the seat bottom as a whole?

I understand that the seats have some adjustability, but I'm trying to see if they are wide enough for my car, it has a console which I'm keeping, so if its too wide it won't fit, or too narrow and it will look wierd.

Well, since you said you have Leather Seats, that kind of got me thinking. Since I never got around to doing it last night *Never really got home......* I can do it tonight, but I wouldn't place those numbers as truth. Just due to the fact the leather seats have all that heating bologna in it...but as stated, I'll get you my numbers for a good reference.

It will have to be tonight, though. Probably around 8:00 PM CST.
