For those of you that don't know, Scangauge has released new functionality for their ScangaugeII unit that allows you to "create" your own gauges by programming certain codes into the unit. It looks to me like potentially you could create a gauge for anything that is available through the OBDII port. For more info, look here:

http://www.scangauge.com/support/xgauge.shtml
http://www.scangauge.com/support/upgrade.shtml
http://www.scangauge.com/support/pdfs/XGAUGE.pdf

This could potentially allow you to get most of the gauges you would want through this single unit.

They state that more vehicles will be added regularly. I was thinking that if a lot of us sent an email expressing interest in the codes for the RX-8, they might bump it up on their list of cars to research. If you could, please tell them there is interest in all models of the RX-8 (such as 6MT, 6AT, 4AT, etc) so that no one gets left out.

I've sent my email already - send yours today if you think you would be interested in the added functionality. I'm going to send my unit in for the upgrade. If I get it back before more of the codes come out, I will try to do some of the Ford codes that they have available, but I'm not optimistic on the outcome of that.

I sent my email to scangauge@linear-logic.com. There are other addresses listed on this page if you think one of them might be more appropriate (plus phone numbers if you prefer that route): http://www.scangauge.com/contactus.shtml

This may be fruitless, but I figure it doesn't cost us anything to try. Only a minute for each of us to write an email. I know I'm interested in adding an oil temp and a trans temp gauge - it would be great if I could do it with the product I already have.

Thanks!

Cobb says the ECU is like a Subaru unit. Maybe try those codes instead of Ford.

Sounds interesting. Might send mine in soon. Anybody know why the upgrade is free for those who bought their SGII after 20th July '07 and not before?
