Saying goodbye to the RX-8

Well folks it has been great and with a some what heavy heart I must say goodbye to my RX-8. As some of you may know the RX-8 has been my daily driver with my 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo as my play car. Well due to a move and going from a residence with 3 parking spaces (current vehicle count 3 cars and 3 motorcycles) to a new residence with only 2 parking spaces I am combining my RX-8 and my 87 911 into one car. I will picking up a 2001 911 twin turbo. The RX-8 has been great and with the winter rims and tires from Tire Rack she was unstopable. I will continue to check in here from time to time as I am rotary nut anyways. Also I guess with the 8 being traded in I have a set winter tires/rims I need to sell . Anyways it has been great fun and see everyone soon.

Thanks

Lane

Good luck with the Porsche. I'm sure that will be a great car for you.

I sent you a PM on the winter wheels/rims. I'm local to you and I'm interested.
Dibs.

But wait, the 996 TT doesn't have nearly 50/50 weight distribution, bad move getting rid of the 8 :p

I will post pics of the new 911 when I pick her up Tuesday. The current 911 I will post pics to link when I get home. The folks that have PM'd about the winter rims and tires I have sent back PM's, I will post exactly which rims I have, I know the tires are the Dunlop M3 winter sports. The very day I put them on the car I picked up a nail. I had the tire plugged and have had ZERO trouble the whole time the tires were on, Oct 30 2004 till April 2005. The rims are 17 inch and I will get the brand and model from the receipt when I get home. The tires and rims are in storage at the Last Detail in North Chicago if you want to go inspect them. I will sell based on the order I have recieved PM's.
Thanks for all the kind words guys.

You really need to find a 993 Turbo S instead of the 996 :D

996 Turbo = Nice

I would get the 996 Turbo before the 993 Turbo. Even though the 993 is air cooled engine. The 996 interior was a quantum leap from the 993 interior. Not to mention $500 chip change & you are at 500 hp

Heres a link to a couple of pics of my 87 930 with a peak of the two wheel machine as well.

Trust me Ike when I say I love the 993, but as stated the 996 was leaps ahead in interior and tunability. Remeber this is my combo of daily driver and fun machine.

Well if you're ever in the Milwakee area give me a shout, I've driven or riden in just about every generation of 911 and wouldn't mind a ride in the 996 :D

Well the deed is done. The new Porsche is at home. The first person who was interested in my winter tires and rims decided to just garage his 8 for the winter. So the rims and tires are up for sale. I figure $800 is a good price. Kazera KZ with Dunlop Sport m3 tires. No damage on any rims, one tire plugged from nail. The rims and tires can be seen at The Last Detail in North Chicago just ask for Dan. Would prefer a local buyer for pick up. Just let me know.
