Sad day... but its ok

So I have been loving the reviews on the 8 and the body is amazing, I had it setup to a decent budget to purchase a used but my father gave me a deal I could not pass up, I am getting his 77 camaro, I know this seems like spam and pointless, but hopefully someday I can own an 8, but for now all monetary funds are being sent to the american muscle beast. I know someone posted about an ls7 in an 8, and if its not too much to ask, someone who knows a bit more here goes...

Its originally an inline 6 with 3 speed....
Should I look for a 305, 327, 350, 355, 377, 383, 400, or a 427??

I saw go for a 350TI or a 383 due to size and weight. Also, 350's are easy to get power from it and sound awesome

So far its just hunting down some items, as the budget will probably get thrown to body work..... I was thinking a 327, 350, or 383, and then hooking it up to a 4/5 speed transmission

the 77 was originally a carb'ed Inline 6 (250), a 305, or a 350... all carb'ed...

you most likely will have to change out quite a bit of stuff to be able to handle the extra weight and power of a V8. I would stay away from a 305, too heavy and not very powerful. Look for a nice 350 with a 4 barrel carb. Plenty of power and plenty of parts available.

But Im not sure why you would want one of those "beasts" They are very nose heavy, can't handle worth anything and in rain or snow, you are literally just asking to get into an accident when your rear end which weighs nothing goes spinning out on you. Also the backs of those F bodies were notorious for rusting out bad.

yea... I know.. but this car has such sentimental value, and I have been looking for an fbody since I was in jr high.... And this is a deal I can not pass on... Plus it wouldnt be a daily driver or a race car... pretty much a beastly cruiser.. and possibly try to see if she would be a good cruiser/drag car...

It would be a lot of work but a LS motor would do some wonders for the car. Mega HP, fuel injection, all the best GM tech and aluminum block too.
