Rx8 Won't Start...Please Help

Well i drove down from my office yesterday with a scorching fit 2005 Rx-8 . I wake up this morning and the engine just won't start, there is just a high pitch noise of "Tick..Tick...Tick" when i turn the ignition.

I had a 99 ampere battery lying around in the house so i jumped the car and it started all well but without the jumping the car just does not budge.

Only a "tick tick tick". Is my battery dead or is there another problem. We don't have dry batteries in "Pakistan" so can anyone give me specification for the battery.

The owners manual states the specifications:

Battery
Manual transmission
12V-40AH/5HR,
12V-52AH/5HR*1
Automatic transmission
12V-48AH/5HR,
12V-52AH/5HR*1
* = cold areas

The ticks might be relays energizing. Do any lights on the dash come on?

You probably have a shorted cell... replace the battery.

HR stands for Hour Rate. This is the discharge rate of a battery. So the battery can produce current for 5 hours
