RX8 Trunk

We go pet food shopping in the RX8. It amazes us how much we can get in the trunk (without a spare), and we still have the back seats if we need more room.

Yah there's enough room in the trunk. The problem is fitting the stuff through the very small opening.

Yea, I know what you mean. I go grocery shopping every week and it amazes me of the amount of food that I can fit into the trunk. I was even able to fit some furniture for my apartment in there (small furniture, of course)!!

Its a plus for this car. May not seem like it, but there's plenty of space.

lol, that reminds me............when i first got my car, i told my sister to go in my trunk. i told her about the security release, and that she would be able to open the trunk from the inside of the trunk. she got in my trunk and went to open the trunk. i had pushed the trunk down so it wouldn't pop open and started to freak out . i let open the trunk, and she was all scared . well, i had told her what i did and got mad at me .

I went to Costco once and had quite a cartload. A couple was walking by as I approached my car, popped the trunk and opened all 4 doors. The stood there and watched as I fit it all in (including 5 cases of water, TP and paper towels). They were amazed that I was able to fit it all in.

I can't really use my trunk thanks to the spare tire kit. (Not that it's a problem with the back seat space.) I always feel like disassembling the damn thing...until I stop and acknowledge the added security I feel knowing I have a spare on board.

Nice pic's...and I agree, every time I go shopping in the RX8 I smile at yet something else this car can do that alot of sports cars can't.

The small opening is ture, but it sure can hold a bunch of stuff.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!

When I first got my 8, I swore I couldn't fit two golf bags in the trunk. I've since determined that not only will two medium-sized bags fit, there's plenty of space left over for a whole lot more.

I hereby retract my first statement.

I've fit my buddy's big *** touring bag and my walking bag in there. I was really surprised about that.

Hey so we should do a Tampa/rx8 golf outing

Had a rental Pontiac G6 a couple of weeks ago. The trunk was very big but the trunk opening wasn't a lot bigger than the 8's. Actually had to maneuver a rolling carry-on to fit in in.

The day I bought my car I had my wife convinced that the 8 was well within our criteria for a family car. Four doors, safety, a.b.s., smashing good looks, everything a small family needs in a second car. (We won’t talk about the surprisingly crappy mileage)

The sale was all final and my wife was parked behind me in her Chrysler 300 with my kids in the back. I was happily transferring items from my crew cab Frontier (CDs and stuff) when I came to my two-year-old’s car seat. The look of aggravation on my wife’s face soon turned to hysterical laughter as I tried every which way to wedge or coax the thing into the tiny trunk opening.

Finally I had to give up and strap the thing into its proper place in the back seat, thus ripping me from the land of the fantasy of being a free roaming bachelor in his new sports car and plopping me back, square into the reality of daddydom. (sigh)

Damn you tiny trunk opening! Damn you to hell!
