I wouldn't expect the side vents to read as being that hot. First, hot air is not flowing through them (car is stationary) so no heat is being transferred to them from the brakes. Second, they are not designed to be a heat absorber. Therefore I wouldn't expect the strakes to heat up that much. Remember that the brakes are heating from conduction and that air is transferring heat to the strakes through convection, much less efficient. Finally, the body is a great heat sink and would quickly dissipate the heat from the fins. I would really like to see a pic of the airflow, that would tell me how efficient they are. Preferrably a before and after pic where the strakes are covered and then left open. The delta T would tell me more.

If your still taking any requests, I'd be a little curious to see what the shifter **** after sitting in a hot car, as well as the hole and area you stick your hand into to get to the dipstick. Just thought those two would definetely spark some interest as others have always complained about them!

Just a thought

I know my trunk floor is cooler with the aftermarket Hymee catback I have. Would be interested to know how a standard muffler equipped car would compare to one with an aftermarket catback.

You'd need two cars to do a side-by-side comparison though.....

I can't see for sure, but it looks like the area by the A/C coolant line is ~175. Jeebus.

I'll do more. yes taking requests. anything and everything will be done as soon as I can.

It's was about 90F outside. We went 15 miles up the road got some food and came back to work. Those are right after a jaunt down our private campus. We basically parked the car got out and started taking pics. AC was on the whole time. also car was running in the pics.

I wish the camera would do movies. It might even. we just got one of the newest models and we are still playing with it.

It really help for power issues..

How about some pics while the car is moving? Is that possible?
We can end the side vent functionality discussion once and for all.

I think the side vents are not for venting heat. They are to allow higher pressure air out of the fenderwell. This reduces airo drag and helps eliminate front end lift at high speeds.

Those are great.

interesting to see how little heat transferes from the rotor, to the wheels.

Can you do the front of the car, looking into the oil coolers/radiator?
It would be interesting to see the efficiency of those...
