if properly set up on a good healthy engine I wouldnt think it would be more unreliable than the 7.

Its just that people have bad experiences going FI because of missed steps or cutting corners.

There are a lot of variables with MPG. The turbo/super charger and the tune will make a large difference. There's a thread somewhere with users posting thier before and after results with f/i on the 8. You'll find they run different setups in different conditions.
Side note: A boosted car in city driving would be terrible.

If you have another spare car and the rx-7 is in reasonable condition, why not

I have an RX8 and an FD.

FD's are a terrible choice for a daily driver but IMO a WAY more fun car to drive and better looking too.

My FD is half bridgeported and single turbo. Its a loud, gas guzzling machine!

^^^ Thats not the dream...

Having an 8, an FD , AND my FC Lemon Race Car is the Dream!

I enjoy the Lemon WAY more than the FD or the 8. It just makes me smile.
