RX8 may be slower than some cars, but.....

Here's a thought. For any owners unhappy with their 8 because it's not fast enough (or for any other reason for that matter), maybe this will help:
"As sports cars go, the RX-8 holds an excellent resale value, on par with the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G35 Coupe, but much better than the Chrysler Crossfire, Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and Mitsubishi Eclipse"
-or perhaps-
"One of the top ten 2005 vehicles forecasted to best hold their value over the next five years"
which means the option to sell the car and buy a different one is viable.
I for one love my 8 in all its glory and ill repute. I did a Kelley Blue Book look up today and the suggested retail value for my 8 is $26,725 ('05 GT w/ ~6300 miles). Considering I bought the car new for $26,995, I am not at all displeased. The unfortunate aspect is, this really does me little good as I have no intention of selling my 8, at least not in the next few years. Hopefully, this car will be as much fun 5 years from now as it is today, and if not; looks like I will have a good resale value to look forward to (if time doesn't prove me worng that is).

Main reason I got the 8 was the engine. Secondary, the handling. Tertiary, the styling.
Reasons that played no factor: racing, increasing hp, gas. Anyone who complains about the later needs to do a self evaluation on why they are a poor consumer.

I liked the technology of the rotary and its power/weight, and the proven performance and track record of Mazda's rotaries for 30 years. Four seats were a requirement, and the bass-ackwards doors were a cool touch. When I first saw one, the styling was the last straw. The test drive was really just a formality, but the power and handling were a pleasant surprise. I've never regretted it.
BTW, good find Eriznik!

This car is in a league of it's own as far as I'm concerned

BUT
I will say that even though it's a bit pokey in the Get up and go, it is still a helluva lot of fun to whoop, and is indeed unique in the automobile world. Love the Handling.

Scanalyser + vehicle speedo + gtech all say more than 100mph so I don't get you guys changing at 90 ?
Also : when I hit the rev limiter - guage reads 9500 rpm but scanalyser reads 8900-9000 - I think a lot of you guys have got a bit more up your sleaves that you didn't know you had
