My, my…haven’t any of you been “new” to some list or forum before? All I see is the pack mentality at play here…circling about ready to rip someone apart.

If ya’ll see this as such a breach of “forum decorum” then why not PM this person and give them some constructive advice rather then embarrassing them in a public way.

If ya’ll don’t think this an appropriate topic within this forum, ask your moderators to MOVE IT to where the appropriate place IS.

If ya’ll don’t have something helpful to offer in response then DON’T RESPOND …the thread will certainly die a natural death on its own.

Seeing these types of asinine one liner responses above is worse then the repeat threads.

Well I thought the OP was joking with this thread...but he has been notified before to search (see thread https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/basic-maintenance-124324/)

I just said this thread was useless and belongs in the lounge.

I think people on this forum have no problems with new members...it's just those who expect to be spoon fed with answers instead of doing a little work to get them.

The appropriate place is the garbage.

no it won't, it will continually litter the results when people do legitimate searches for their questions. why doesn't anyone understand this?

here's the answer, free post count for me!!

here in the u.s., probably canada also, the gt package is the top of the line package available. well, i guess the shinka is, but besides the shinka, the gt package has all the features. for example, the gt have seat warmers and often come with the aero package when coming off the dealer's lot. the gt also has leather/alcantarra seats, often in two-tone. engine is 6-port. tranny is 6 speed mt (or 6 spd at? <-not sure bout this).

Yep, I’m aware of the other thread and picked up on one key point that “may” be contributing to all the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth from some of the forum over the unbridled enthusiasm and constant questions about owning an RX8(which seems to be a “1st” car):

“sorry guys, im new to cars ..just need some help”

Of all the responses to date to that thread only one from ken-x8 offered at least a decent(read not sarcastic or condescending) response to the poster’s question.

In the same thread, 8 Maniac while not addressing the poster’s question, did offer a good suggestion in expanding the FAQ or provide an area for new and future owner’s to post these common types of questions that seem to irritate oh so many here. Provide the place for those types of questions and then the moderators can MOVE them there.

People are part of this RX8 community for a myriad of reasons with various levels of experience but the common element is still the RX8. I’d hate to think that this is a community of wide lawns and narrow minds.
