Is the RX8 a cop magnet?

^ I agree with Hidef. Around my area in MD more aggressive drivers come from normal ecnobox cars that riced out hondas. Matter of fact when I see cars with mismatch body kits high wings and aftermarket wheels with a fart muffler on the high most of the time their always driving slower than traffic. I have a 100 mile daily commute so I deal with a good amount of people on the road esp in the D.C. area.
The more aggressive drivers are yes the ones in BMW's, any minivan, SUV's and Trucks. I get cut off countless times by people in BMW's also get forced out of my lane by big pick up trucks swirving on the road. And people in SUV's attempt to take corners as fast as I do in the 8.

I have yet to see a Corvette owner really open it up, sadly. And I've only met one Porsche driver around here who will really drive it.

You know what cars I see driving stupid the most around here? Caddies and SUVs of all kinds. Not sports cars or ricers, though the ricers are close.

Same.
Though a guy in a lambo nearly hit me going a good 150mph on the highway (he was going 150 fyi, not me) while he swerving in and out of traffic. I'm so glad the brakes on the 8 work so well.
But yea, it's usually SUVs, pickups, and other large cars, and cops. I see lots of cops driving pretty aggressively down here.

No, you don't get points on your license for camera tickets. It's a civil penalty rather than a criminal penalty, and it's the company that operates the cameras actually suing you for a small amount of money. That's how they get around not being able to face your accuser (which would be required under U.S. law for a true criminal action).

No not here, my previous car was.
With my Civic Type-R I was stopped like 10-15 times in about 2 years, in 2,5 year with the RX-8 I has only been stopped ones in a routine inspection.
Here it is still fairly expensive to own so I think the cops take it as older guys only have them and drive slow with it.

Since buying the RX8, I have been in stealth mode.
My last car was a 1996 Impala SS, lowered, wide rims, limo tint, loud exhaust, etc..etc..etc.
I am a 40ish year old white guy who lives in suburbia with two kids and a dog named Buttercup. I got pulled over ALL the time! I was so profiled. Since the RX8, not even a second look.
Once cops saw who they pulled over in the Impala with car seats in the back, I got let go without tickets most of the time.
From now on, now outwardly noticeable mods, loud exhaust, or anything to draw attention to your car. Stealth mode lets you have fun, and not draw attention. Too bad it took me until my 40's to get that lesson!

I got a ticket for speeding (was going 58 in a 45) the first week I got my car - VR RX8 stands out I guess
Anyways, now I don't speed and they seem to leave me alone.

If you speed and pass a lot of people and generally always go 10 mph over the speed limit then yes you will likely be a target.
If you drive respectable like you should then you shouldn't ever be bothered unless the cop feels like being a ******.
Met some kid last night at a party bragging about getting up to 200 on powers (which isnt even a hwy..not like it matters) in his dads z06.
I told him he was a dumb **** and he deserved to be arrested for such stupid DANGEROUS ****.

I have had no problems yet with cops in my 8. Just pulled over once for no front plate & tinted front windows, but that cop was just bored I think that day.

i got followed once by a state trooper in dallas. i saw him radar-ing...i was on cruise at 4 or 5 over...he got in his car and took off. i knew he couldn't be going after me, but then a minute later he was riding right behind me, like he was pacing me, but he never pulled me over. he followed me for a mile or so...that was the only time i really felt like a cop profiled my car and followed me.
