Hybrid-RX8,

You don't have to post your obvious disappointment.

We know how you felt as we were all devestated on what they did to your new RX8. It was horrible. Maybe you can claim vandals messed up your car and have insurance fix it back to it's normal beautiful self.

P.S.,
Please show us your car now or when you get it fixed. I'm pretty sure those poopoo graphics are gone.

you obviously didn't see his reaction when they brought him his "modded" car. His smile was so forced that you could tell he hated what they did.

I saw the show but if you look at his post he never said he didn't like what they did to the car.

TUNER TRANSFORMATION

Hey guys,

Whoa I didn't expect this thread to have so many replies.

Anyhow, I didn't know anything on what they were actually doing to the car in all honesty..... but through some trusted sources I knew they weren't going to pull a TRADING SPACES and paint the whole car brown or something..

in concersn to the ECU remapping..I was told afterard that it supposed to be setup with Maurice.. unfortunately, I'm not aware why things did not materialize.. they spoke that they were were supposed to recieve the upgrade from Maurice..and he said he sent a tracking # but simply nothing ever came..so they gave up on him? I haven't a clue personally...

SIKREDRX8

Lol... the graphics are coming off this weekend... they were peeling anyhow.. me and some of boys up here in Toronto will be

but am I upset the N20.. absolutely not.. it was an absolutely clean setup... 35 shot wet.. and I was very surprised at the gains.. 45hp to the wheels with about 70 pounds of torque to the wheels is sickening by the standards of any veteran import enthuasiast on this board... and it's not permanent.. it's not a direct port kit.. so if any warranty issues comes up...all I do is replace that part of the intake tube which is inexpensive in relativity to the price of the NX kit and install.... maybe like $100 dollars only....... For there's a little lesson 101 for all you warranty freaks and newbie modders!! Guys guys... remember it was all for free!!

Do I plan on KEEPING the N2o? In all likelehood..no.. It's great but... It's really an expensive band aid solution to true FORCED INDUCTION..I had a 100 shot running on my IS300 before.. and it was nothing but costly filling EXPENSIVE bottles..and the short amount of time unto; bottle runs out and never truly having the power there all the time... and obviously the risk factors......ALTHOUGH I will be moving into F/I routes soon as I develop the car for the cover of Performance and AUto Sound Magazine coming up this summer!!

I'll be taking pics soon guys! and remember..the TV show did everything for free

Oh yeah..lol is it MY STYLE? nope...... I'm into the entire aggressive JDM feel.....with maybe some bling on the side.. you guys will see in the near future.................

Am I complaining? Hellz no...........free upgrades....to keep or sell......... and stickers that are removable! It's all a wonderful thing.

And from the personal experience dealing with some of the TUNERS... they are a good bunch of guys.. with great heart..and great intent.. Jack Mac (the sticker and suspension guy) was even kind enough to lend his Lexus IS300 as a loaner during a portion of the time they took my vehicle.......

Sounds good and all but you know your car is on TV and in coupe scenes your plate was shown as well. Just hope nothing goes wrong with your engine, I am sure Mazda will find out even if you replace the intake tube since your car is documented on TV.

Good luck though, I am sure your engine will be fine if you don’t keep running the NOS.

I guess if you want your car in a magazine you can't avoid bling. I personally would not install all those stereo stuff, it just weighs down your car and throw off the balance.

I am all for hardcore JDM but no bling bling.

As far as the N2O and trying to hide it, if your motor goes and they tear into it (as they will if it ever needs to be replaced) you can not hide N20 and the signs that it has been used. I am by no means a newbee tuner, or new to mods. And as stated I am sure Mazda was all over that show and has info on your car.

Sorry to get here late, but I happened to see the first time the show ran. Even I was unhappy with what they did to the car, and I don't think I'm very crticial about these things... I thought the guy claiming that the car was unique and so should not have a lot of graphics put on it in its first model year was dead-on. It felt like they were trying to do something - anything - to make the exterior of the car look different. A better choice would have been to go the other way and simply do a de-badge. A nice, simple, interesting mod. I also thought they missed a great opportunity to explore after-market tuning products like Canzoomer's Stage One. Hearing that they were going to do that and didn't make it happen makes me twice as disappointed. A five minute interview with Maurice and a little history would have greatly improved the show.

I also didn't understand why one would ever replace the brakes on the RX-8. Brakes? I think my brakes are perfect. (Maybe that's because I have an AT, though -- you guys with the MT's get more power, but the AT and the MT stops just the same!) My thought... they put on the car what they got for free and they got free brakes. Personally, I liked the wheels...

I'm sure that the difficulties of producing a show like that on a very low budget are great, but... we didn't need the gratuitous shot of the girl's butt -- I also noticed that they carefully blocked Hybrid-RX8's license plate on most scenes, but missed one or two others... just sloppy work! Also, they should have taken the time to wash the car in the first few shots. It was painful to look at.

The show is obviously not trying to break any new ground... just fill 30 minutes of air time. Even with this as a goal, they need to work on finding a better formula.
