an rx8 christmas
Hello. My husband has been in love with rx8s since he was young and finally purchased one for himself last month. With Christmas coming up, I figured I should do a couple rx8 themed gifts for him. I need some help though. I know absolutely nothing about cars and due to the fact that we have only been married 6 months, we *don't have an unlimited amount of money to spend on gifts. But if you guys on here could help me out by listing some things that you would like for Christmas I would greatly appreciate it. It doesnt have to be just parts for the car. Be creative.
Thanks!
Thanks!

1) The RX8 has what is called a Rotary engine (Wankel Rotary) so many gift idea don't necessarily have to be RX8 specific but may also be Rotary specific
2) The RX8 was only in production from 2003 to 2010 ... so don't try looking for old classic car kind of gift ideas ... if you do you might get them mixed up with the RX8's older brother the RX7 which had a much longer production run.
Ideas such as:
- Shift *****
- Rotary accents
- Rotary books
- T-shirts and hats
- Coffee mugs
- Rotary key chain

Fun accessories and parts:

You could get a lot of fun things from the sites above such as a rotary key chain, shirt, etc. and make a nice package out of it. You also might find some fun accessories at the sites below, though they tend to have more in the line of performance parts.

If you really have a lot of money to spend, buy him a Cobb Accessport with ECU tuning by MazdaManiac:

I think I'd freak out in excitement if my wife bought me a custom ECU tune.

some naughty nude pics with his car

For a real suggestion:
a membership to your local SCCA to open the door for him to autox, or if you want to spend a few hundred dollars, buy him a High Performance Driving weekend somewhere.
Other than that, the above suggestions are great. The baby seat might be pushing it though.
My wife has given me VooDoo shift ****, a helmet, and a gift card to use towards car parts over the last few birthdays and christmases

My vote is for an Rx8 die cast somewhere in there.
But that's personally because I want one.
I got an Eat, Sleep, Wankel shirt a few Christmas's ago, I actually really like that shirt.

Perhaps even, a poster or something? And stuff for autocross is a good idea. I really enjoy my Rx8, and I really enjoy going to those with my Rx8.

For our 2nd Christmas, my wife gave me a weekend at Skip Barber racing school. I was over joyed. I didn't actually get to take the class until spring of course.
Give us more information on how he enjoys cars... Does he plan on modifying it? Does he have any other car items, such as models, clothing, posters, decorations or even a computer desktop wallpaper?
If you know what he might want to do to the car, you could get a few small things for the car. Something like a shift **** would be cheap but adds a nice touch. You'd have to know what he would like for something like that.
Since we don't know a lot of specifics, here's a few generally cool things. You can get a rotor clock or a housing and rotor clock. The clock is easily removable if he just wants to display the engine parts. You also get a choice of color. It's just a neat little decoration to have around... I use a housing/rotor display as a book end and decoration in my living room area. If he has a room like a theater/game room or if the garage is "his" area, that might be a nice touch. Found here:

They also have stuff like keychains, which would be a decent stocking stuffer. They offer a few other little things, so you can browse the site, but here's the link for the keychains:

^ Yes very sad... lol. Once she gets back on the forum she'll have lots of great ideas!
The rotary clock is probably my favorite though. I get lots of people asking 'Dude, what is that?!' lol. I love that reaction.

I'm not sure on his style or how much you want to spend,
but most places charge around $80 for tinted tail lights, you can order blacked out emblems online for $28-40 a piece and I think window tint usually cost around $120 installed.
Those are great gifts and are simple mods.

MazMart
FWIW, I actually went by MazMart in Houston to get parts for my old '04 Mazda6. It's a junk yard with a mechanic's shop attached. They charged me $40 for an old nasty trunkliner. Shame on me for paying for it, but $40 was pretty crazy at a junkyard for an old stained piece of carpet. I won't be returning to MazMart in the future if I ever need parts.
That said, I did see the rotary chamber there and thought "cool".
