Lightbulb RX8 production orders are being takin by Mazda

I'm sorry about advertising on it but if anyone has anyquestions about it they are taking production orders.

Dude, one of the only rules of this forum is that no dealers advertise on it. The moderators are just gonna edit you out so don't waste your time. Also RX-8's arent being made as we speak. :o

I hate to tell you but it is true and we have two being taking care of at this moment even though they are 90 days out since they are built in Japan and we have received the prices on them to boot.

John sorry to tell you this, but I'll bet money that the people on this board knew about pre-ordering and pricing before you did

I called my dealer and he still didn't know until he got the information later that day and called me back. Most of us have our pre-orders down already.

The cars aren't being built yet either.

moronic fr*@# car dealers. i am getting really sick of them. job one hasn't started yet. the production line isn't running. and it doesn't take 90 days to build a car and ship it across the pacific! hell the trip from japan to the west coast of the us only takes 2 weeks tops! if it took mazda 76 days to produce a car they would be out of the business.

Just because you have received prices or order confirmations does not mean they are being built! I know for a fact that Job 1 starts in April, and I won't tell you where I work, you can figure that one out :D

you're right of course herc. dealers have just been a thorn in my side for about a year now. john by all means, if you have something to contribute , or more info on the job#1 date, we welcome your posts. just don't try to sell us something.
* jeez, herc as the calming influence, who woulda thunk it?*

I think he hates obnoxious salesmen. He probably thinks some of the good, professional salesmen who took great care of him are some of the greatest guys he ever met.

I work in sales. My manager is a great guy and leaves me to my own devices, but he has a hint of that obnoxiousness in him himself. When I see him walking towards me with the determined stride that means he wants to know what is up with a certain account, it makes me cringe. I got an email from him today that had the same effect. I hate dealing with these aggressive/obnoxious types, too. When someone gets really aggressive pushing something on me, I cringe and back off. When someone is knowledgeable, low-key and helpful, they get my business 100% of the time- and I am happy to give it to them.

Don is exactly right. I used to work in sales and I'd like to think I was one of the good ones. There is a difference between working in sales and being a "salesman" now, thanks to the types Don described. A good salesman knows his stuff and is there to help a customer or client find the product that is best for them. Good sales people know that that's the way to make the real money. Rank amateurs think that you can ram something down a customer's throat and they'll never catch on. When I think "salesman" now I think of the coworkers I have had that were always "taking a loss" on everything and "getting to know the customers needs" by pitching whatever had the highest comission as if they had really taken the customer's concerns into account. That type of salesperson screws themself in the end through returns and poor word of mouth, but there are still a few that can bamboozle their customers into thinking that they genuinely care about their needs.

Don is totally right about the agression factor. You can smell it a mile off and it really pushes my buttons. It is a smooth slick condescending attitude that tells me a person thinks that they can break people into groups and apply the correct canned script to pull their strings. There's nothing wrong with breaking the rules out of ignorance, but after your mistake is pointed out that is where you back off if you have any courtesy rather than try to push your point. We have to rely on an honour system here to keep things factual and filter out the BS. Trolls and salesmen have motives other than getting out the true facts and just don't belong in such a community.

I don't mean to overreact based on a couple of lines of text, but I have a little alarm that goes off when I smell the "salesman" attitude.

my problems with car salesman and car dealers. any time i go on a car lot one of them attaches himself to me. it always seems to be the newest guy who doesn't know anything. then when he gets someone to help me it seems to be someone who still doesn't seem to know the product but pretends to. he/she will then keep trying to get me to buy a car today even though i say several times that i am just inquiring so i can make a comparison of different cars at different dealers.
now my experience at my mazda dealer has not been pleasent. when i first went in 6 months ago to put a deposit down for the car they told me i was third on the list and that they would not deposit the check until it came time to order the car. two weeks later i find out that they deposited the check. so i had to go back over there and bug them to give me my money back and to stay on the list. it took me talking to 3-4 people and an hour of my time to do so. now flash forward to last week. i put my on line order in at 6:30 in the morning. by noon some people were posting on the board that their dealer had called them. so i went over talked to someone, after a half hour of waiting, that had no clue but promised to call me. thursday i call to see if my car is ordered, no and the manager went to an auction out of state, wont be back until saturday, thats when they should have the info needed and they will call me. i call another dealer in town and the sales person calls the car an r s -8!. twice! and doesn't know about the online pre-sale until i tell him. friday i call MNAO customer service because i can't stand it anymore. i talk to a guy named charlie he was great and alot of help. he called the dealer but couldn't get a manager at the mazda side of things so gave my ingo to the manager of the VW sales side. he walks it over to the internet sales guy who calls me and seemingly gets things straifhtened out. i don't get one of those confirmation numbers or anything else. on monday the guy who was supposed to call me saturday calls me to say he didn't forget about me and they should have the info soon! i tell him i talked to the internet guy on friday and ask him to check with him and call me back. 2 hours later i call the internet guy to make sure the car is ordered as this is the day that is supposed to be the first cutoff. for the first couple minutes of the conversation he denies talking to me on friday! finally he remembers and tells me not to worry that i have their fourth allocated car ( remember i was third on the list 8 months ago!) he agrees to change the color to sunlight silver and tells me not to worry again and the car is ordered and will be the second car they get in june. i still don't have that confirmation number thingy that many others have and don't really have confidence that the car is ordered. until i do or do not get the email from mazda i wont know. then the last three days the forum gets dealers posting when they are told not to and they are throwing around false info that everyone here knows is bogus and still they try to defend it saying its true.

i know this was longwinded but now you can see why i have little patience left for tthese people. * stops the rant and gets off his soapbox*

Holy Crap,
I think that this guy is from the dealership I'm going through to get my RX-8. He is not my sales guy. But still.

Funny thing is whenever I have learned anything new here I have called them to let them know whats coming up. Oh well not the guy I'm dealing with at the dealership.
