RX-8's styling
I saw the first gen RX-7 a few days ago. It had a nice dark brown metallic paint and almost looked new. One thing that I noticed was that the looks of the RX-7 that's close to 30years old. It looked new and nice enough that I thought even if it had come out today, it would still be an attractive design. In other words, I thought the design was ahead of its time.
Could our RX-8 be the same? It really does say a lot of the design when after 30 years, it still looks cool. How many other cars be said the same? I don't think many.
When I first saw the 8, I thought it was a new Lotus, Maseratti or Ferrari; Just an awesome & exotic design. It was after three years of working overseas and did not realize that Mazda came out with the new 8. Got a close look of the car and realized that it was the new Mazda RX-8. Knowing how much the third generation 7 cost before, I thought for sure it was more-or-less close to 50K purely based on design.
I am hoping to keep my 8 for a long, long time.

I remember as a kid asking the older guys about their cars. One guy who drove the first gen. RX-7 told me exactly like this: "Man, it's so much fun to drive. It's the rotary." Of course I didn't understand what he meant. I just thought it was a cool looking car. I guess even the first gen. RX-7's were more fun-to-drive than other competitors like the Celicas, Supras, 280ZX's or Starions.

I grew up with my dad owning a first gen and then later a second gen RX-7. Those cars were so beautiful, and fun to drive. I remember him letting me take his second gen out once, and having to muscle that car around the corners, after that I was in love with the RX line.
When the 8 came out, I instantly fell in love with it. It was my goal to get one, my dream car. Few years later here I am! I love this car!

I didn't like the way the RX-8 looked when it came out and I still don't like the way it looks today It obviously doesn't bother me since I bought it, but I don't like the way it looks.
