Thumbs up RX-8 - Surprise Birthday Gift From Wife!!

Hi everyone. My name is Josh. I have been obsessed with the Rx-8 since it came out (and even before). I've probably been on Rx8club.com EVERY day for the past year or so. What a great website. Well, this past Friday was my 30th birthday, and my wife told me she had a surprise for me. We drove to a Mazda dealer and we picked up a 2004 Titanium Grey Rx-8 with the Grand Touring Package. I almost lost it. She obviously knew that I love the car (i basically walked around the with brochure) and worked with the dealer to locate the exact car I wanted. How amazing is that!?! Well, this is my first post. I will try and share some pictures soon. Wish me luck and feel free to post some notes to my wife, Dana, telling her how amazing she is. I'll share the posts with her. Actually, if you guys don't mind, post a lot. I'd love to share this stuff with her.

Be thankful -- very thankful.

My wife considers the RX-8 like my mistress!

Don't know why she feels that way......

Wow, you are lucky. I guess I am too. That's something my wife would do. I bet some people here would like to know if your wife has any single sisters! :D

Congrats!

My birthday gift!

Thanks to everyone for posting these notes. I hope to have many more to share with Dana. Honestly, I really couldn't believe that she had pulled the trigger and made it happen. I've never had a really nice car...my last car was a loyal but boring 1996 Honda Accord with like 80,000 miles.

Couple of other quick points...Dana has a VERY cute single sister!!!! HMMMMMM. Add some posts about why you are the man and i'll forward them to her as well!

thanks to everyone for these awesome posts!!! please keep them coming! i know this sounds crazy, but i freaked out a little shortly after she revealed her gift. i just thought it was overwhelming. anyway, just to clarify, the payments for the next 3 years are 100% mine...she did started me off though!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way, cars come and go...they're just hunks of metal...the real gift is that my wife is totally great (and a real beauty as well)...ok, enough of that....now let's rip up to that 9000 RPM redline....

That's amazing, you are definitely a lucky man.

If something like that happened to me, I'd have to immediately apply the rules of Bundynomics. For every stroke of good fortune, something will happen two fold worse...

Oh, and your from Philly, whose your college baskeball team?

If he was the bandwagon type, then I'd wager the guess as St. Joseph. :D

I like Penn and Villanova....maybe a little St. John's as well!!! Philly is a good basketball town! Thanks for your message. Right now, the Rx-8 has like 400 miles on it...can't wait until that break-in period is over to see what it can do. This is my first rotary. It is definitely different than a conventioanl engine.

Actually, I was curious because I am a St. Joe's alumni. And for years when I would go home to Florida everyone would ask me how St. John's was.

Anyway, again, congrats on the car.
