Just read where Mazda hopes to sell 100k 6's in the U.S this year, and that they sell 2 million vehicles world wide per year on average. Thought I read that 8 sales have averaged 4000 per year in the U.S. since 2004, meaning there are approximately 20,000 8's on the road here. Can anyone verify?

Dream on. Well, maybe they'll get enough people who figure it looks enough like a Toyota that their yuppie friends won't laugh at them for buying a Mazda. I certainly won't be one of them... I think the car is gross compared to the original. If I were to get rid of my 6, it would definitely be for something else.

 

4,000 rx8s a year is not a lot at all. Sure, 20,000 sounds like a lot but then you need to take into consideration wrecked rx8's also. Plus most 8 owners garage their 8's. Hence why theres hardly any on the road. ever.
