Im new to the RX8 forum and purposely joined to have your guys help with buying my RX8. Story is mom is getting a MX9 so im going to get a deal hopefully on a RX8 when she buys hers.

(Year 04-05 models)
Questions are:

What is the car like stock? How fast can it go?

Is the exhaust system good? Or is replacing it with a better set worth it?

Does adding a turbo make you cry with joy?

Does adding a new CPU chip offer alot of performance upgrade?

Does adding a air intake system like a Cold Air Intake add alot of Ummfff?

Would really appreciate your help and suggestions :D

2. Don't waste your money unless you just want to **** off the neighbors with a fart can and 2hp gain.
3. If you have 7k to spare, YES. However, the car is plenty fast stock.

If speed and torque is what you're looking for, this isn't the car for you. Let alone the gas cost.

where will 6th gear go?

 

top speed = 5th gear. Not enough "ummfff" in 6th to get any higher speed

no, its their new crossover!!! Its a mix between an MX5 and a CX9, Its a Miata that seats 9.

 

 

Upgrading the exhaust can help. I got about 10 ummffs from a midpipe alone.

 

I dont like recieving ummmfffss.

 

Test drive is the best solution.

The Access Port software upgrade is fantastic.
