Also, depending on what you're going for M3 (it's a big car though). If you want a larger beast also the new Grandsport vette is pretty cool.
For me, it's a cayman S or a Lotus Exiege s 260 (although I don't think I could drive a vehicle that was propelled by a toyota engine). If you can go higher, v8 Vantage (08+), 911 GT3 (no reason to get the RS unless you're really crazy). If you don't mind old school an NSX is a lot of fun. If you want something absolutely insane, you can get a viper SRT-10 (I would recommend 06+), but be careful, those cars are evil at the limit.

Downgrading is not an option, NOOOOO WAYYY!
I've been thinking about upgrading to a BMW335xi sedan, black on black, dealership in my area gave me a very tempting offer on one, and definitely getting a MT this time haha.. that would only be my upgrade. So i might trade in my 8 soon for it depending on if im brave enough to do it.

Anything but the Civic Si. Due for a overhaul soon. It really isn't that fast. A great FWD chassis in need of more oopmh.
MS3, MX-5, WRX, GTI or Genesis Coupe turbo.
Upgrading - price range? New STI has grown on me. Like the new 370Z. G37 coupe is nice if you prefer to veer more toward luxury side. 335i is nice but getting toward end of lifecycle. Camaro SS if you want sheer thrust - read that it doesn't handle as well as it should.

Can't downgrade from this car, honestly it's cheap as eff and low torque, you'd do yourself a disservice.
Upgrade, I went with the e92 335i. SIIICK. It's as fast (pretty much) as the e46 m3. There is no shortage of Torque. Great move on my part.
When looking I compared g37, 370z and e46 m3, even a c6 vette. But the 335i won out (mainly do to back seat, and drivability).
And for those who would downgrade to a 3? Are you a vagina? I understand it may be a speed 3, but I repeat, are you a vagina?
