Holy shhiitte that is one handsome key!!!

(Would only work as a emergency key for me if that much, I've got the adv. keyless entry /start...)

I want that key. I have an 05 and the switchbalde is starting to get old (always pops out in my pocket and stabs me), I would prefer a more old fashioned key but I wouldn't get that until I knew it had the basic functions of the key. ie lock, unlock, trunk, alarm.

Just get a replacement key part for something like $25 at your dealer or Mazdaparts.com and use the existing transmitter. Getting a key cut costs like a dollar or two, and you can easily program it yourself if you do have two working (registered) keys.

Or if you get that fancy-schmantzy Japanese key, I'll trade you one of my original 2004 fobs for the switchblade remote

It opens in my pocket and when I sit down it bends into my leg.

i always thought the switchblade was a nice touch, myself i've had endless people obsess over how nice it would be...

I've had it open in my pocket a few times too, but it's so blunt that it's no more of an annoyance then any other key falling into the wrong spot when u sit down.

I have this key as it came extra from the 2 standard keys on the car from Japan.
The really cool thing is on the other side (not shown in picture) the rotary sign is painted to match your car colour. Mine is Whitewater Pearl. And it is pearl on the key!!!
Fabulous.

Not to go into details but, in case you're wondering, the "switchblade" key does NOT seem to intimidate anyone if you're threatened late at night in a dark alley and dramatically open it like a knife.
