RX-8 chat room???

I need advice
i have a 2004 rx8 6speed manual transmission with the rotary engine. For some reason it will not turn over and I have it at the dealership they are trying to fix it but i don't know if they will be able to. I still owe money on the car and I might have to sell it for parts or to someone who is looking for a rebuild. Is that at all possible?

We have a winner! Ten year old thread resurrection.
Anything is possible. Parting out the car could bring you more money than selling a car with a busted engine. But part outs are long, hard work, and shipping the bigger parts is a pain.
If the engine is toast, the dealer will tell you. They should do a compression test. You will have six numbers and an rpm value. Don't settle for "good" or "bad". Ask for the numbers. A Mazda rebuilt engine will cost several thousand dollars. There are cheaper options on the market, there were some people who had bad luck with Mazda motors.
