dude, thats a repost

not to mention, it really depends on the fc driver and wat kind of setup he has. fc with proper setup will eat rx8 alive, sorry to say but its true.

That looks like its one of my favorite roads north of Bear Mountain in the NY area.
Great little road just a quick drive away from the city.

BC.

RX7 chasing RX8 - YouTube
TNC!!!

The FC driver isn't local. He probably felt a tad uncomfortable on those roads. The red 8 was modded to the brim and the silver 8 had the mod that trumped all mods. Slick tires. Not that the handling of an 8 is bad. Stock for stock, the 8's suspension would trounce on the FCs but this video really doesn't say much. It's just 3 buddies having fun.

its too bad you live so far away, it would be much fun to bring some of these cars to the track and actually try it.

at Mazdafest in 2005, we did the stock Rx8 vs IT prepped FC, and its basically even. you let me put tires and an alignment on the Rx8 and the 8 is faster.

Couldn't that be said for quite a few cars though? If you mod a car you can make it do almost anything you want depending how extreme you go.

I love how OP got wet over the fact that the 8's were ever so slightly quicker on the roads than the FC... All while the FC is two decades behind in technology, the road result is dependent on driver and the 8's were "modded to the brim and the silver 8 had the mod that trumped all mods."

Soon after I got my 8, I went to a 7 meet. Mostly FD's. After they went on a Wangan run. They were surprised how well I was able to keep up with them. Traffic helped a bit.

Truth.

While I love both my RX7 and my RX8, my RX7 carves much better than my 8, BUT, the 7 has coil overs, has spent a lot of time of corner scales, and alignment racks getting it perfect.

The RX8 really does carve good but not like my 7, nor is it as fast in a straight line, for obvious reasons. When I go play with my friends in their Porsche's, they cannot keep up with my 7 at all, they keep up with the RX8 just fine.

Let me get back to you after I put some better tires on the 8 as well as changing from 225 to 255 width. I think it will carve better after I take these mismatched tires off of it.

I have put a front sway on the 8 and put it on an alignment rack to dial out lot of the understeer. I think the tires will make it a much better driver.

Bone stock? The 8 is a much better car hands down and most likely much faster than a stock FC, that is for sure.

I'm almost positive I know who's FC that is, and I can guarantee that he's not pushing 100%. That car has a BUILT 13b-RE, and it's lighter than the 8.

tho the suspension looks very harsh on that road maybe thats why hes not pushing.

there is an Rx8 running 28th (out of 70) in the 25 hours of thunderhill right now.

best lap time is a 2:03.191, which is hauling for a big fat car with no torque!

stock for stock it's really hard to say, at least if we comparing stock tii to stock rx-8.

FC is 25 years old, but it's also MUCH lighter.

Check out the FCs they have in Japan will wet your pants, most of the good cars were never "online" and kept by private owners, they usually don't have crazy body mods but most have those GT Wing, before you laugh and call them ricers, they go REALLY fast and those wings help under high speed cornering and will get ur pants wet. holy ****.

if your looking at a video of a couple guys on a public road maybe... on a race track the Rx8 is faster.

i haven't put an Rx8 on the scale yet, but a STOCK US spec T2 is over 2800lbs, so its only 100lbs lighter, give or take.

i like the FC too, but the Rx8 is faster at the race track.
