Quick question...

I changed my trans and diff fluids to Royal purple about 3-4 weeks ago.

i checked my diff today and its already pretty black and dirty..

does royal always do that?..

 

"pretty black and dirty" as in it looks like a leak???

Or did you drain it again and checked the fluid color??

or does it look like road debris??

 

how did you check it? and yes it does get dirty.... i find you ? a bit odd.

i went in for my oil change at my usual car wash/oil change spot...

the guy said my diff was nasty.. I told him i just recently switched over to royal purple synthetics. He showed me some on his fingers and it looked pretty filthy..

he said it might just be how royal purple is..

 

there you go.. it would have helped if you had said that to begin with.

i am going with it is fine and he or she is trying to sell you something..

to get his fingers on the oil he would have to put them in the drain hole and hope the oil was near the top...

unlikely done if the car had been driven that day..
