Rotary hood badge

Does anyone make the old school style rotary shaped hood badge to fit RX8s?
I've looked all over the net and can't find anything. I think it would be a bit classier and more exotic than the plane Mazda logo.

Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure I know which badge you're talking about... I do remember the Rx-3 and 4 having a rotor-shaped badge ... on the grille itself, but not on the hood. Is that what you're thinking of?

Hell, a user in this forum has it as his avatar.. a pic of an Rx-3 grill, I think.

I think ebay or a junkyard will be the only hope there.. can't find anyone making repro badges.

Oh, this is gonna SUCK whenever I get around to getting an Rx-2 or 3.. finding trim pieces. x.x

Too bad genuine Efini badges cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah, I saw his avatar. I just think that looks much better.
I had found the Efini badges. They look cool, but would like the plain Mazda ones.
I think I'm just out of luck.

You'll have to get one made. That badge would cost $500 secondhand if you could find one.

Actually, I reckon that it would look great on my Winning Blue RX-8....

O.O

That's bloody gorgoeus! I know Mazda excecs will likely have a nosebleed if someone even suggests yet another logo change, but damn, that's as worthy as the 3-prong star or the spinning prop.

Aw to hell with the nosebleeds. Mazda: Make that corporate logo. I think it says far more about Mazda than any other logo they've recently used.

*ducks*

Holy crap. That's it. Man, that would look cool. They could even leave the new M logo in the middle of it and make an updated one. I would like to find one of those though. 500 bucks is steep.

The more I think about it, the more I like it...

1. Has a rotor, and rotary IS the soul of Mazda.

2. Has blue, and blue is the color of Mazda

3. Has the 'm', for um... Mazda. But like Leigon says above.. maybe swap the old 'm' for the new uh... owl?

Sometimes I question Mazda's image consultants...

I WANT THAT!!!

There was another thread about having a custom badge made, along with some manufacturers who were posting they could do it for us. Maybe we should contact them to see if they can make this? I would like it with the blue area blank... so it can work on all of our 8s.

You all mean me?

I got the pic from ebay. Someone was selling the badge from a RX-3 (I think it was).

You could always use the pic and have one machined or hunt for an original one on ebay and rotary forums.
