Angry return my rx8?

ok heres the deal. I leased an AT rx8 and have had it for some months now. Since then i have had problems with the engine idles and stalling out on me along with some other problems with the shitty horsepower situation. Also there have been the recalls of the air bags etc. Overall because of these things i am just not happy with my car. I realize when buying an innovative car such as the 8, so problems would come up..but not to this degree..to were the engine is screwed up already..Now my question: would i be able to claim the car is a lemon at a dealership and return my car and end my lease?
Man do i hope so..any imput would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK, the lemon law only counts if you've had the dealership fix the same problem 3 times and it's still not fixed.

WHY is the AT stalling on you? What did the dealer say about THAT? (and how is an air bag recall a 'defect'?)

....resisting feeding.

Yah, recalls are to be expected on just about any car you buy, so I wouldnt put that as a notch 'against' the RX-8.

That being said, need more information on the 'stalling' problems you are having - especially with an AT. When does it stall? Are you doing anything unique when it happens?

What's been said about the Lemon Laws are true - they do get a couple of chances to fix the problem before you can claim 'Lemon'

If you're really serious about taking it back, you should be talking to a lawyer or your dealer/leasing person, not us.

recalls happen all the time to EVERY make and model car, from Hyundai to Mercedes. If recalls bother you that bad, get a bike.

And saying that the car has shitty horsepower is just stupid, because you should have known the power before you leased it - you did TEST DRIVE it, right?

This guy has one post, talking about the flaws of the car... and an AT stalling? Stalling during what? :P Seems fishy...

Otherwise talk to a lawyer is a good start.

Simply put, 1 post saying you dont like your AT 8, and give vague poor descriptions of problems then asking how to return it as a lemon sounds like a kid who has NOTHING to do.

Try giving more details and then MAYBE someone will try to help. As it is this thread is a waste of time.

We are as bias as they come. God forbid anyone should complain about this car in any way. LOL It proves he's a new member, otherwise he would have known he can't make a post like this without getting harped on. If anything bad goes wrong with my 8, and I get fed up with it, I'll simply trade the thing in and say nothing, because I know asking for advice on getting rid of an rx8 is the last thing you wanna do on here.

Because thousands of people post here so the odds are that a few will get lemons. If this was a Honda Accord board, there would be someone complaining about serious problems with their new vehicle. Just check edmunds message boards if you don't believe me.

Yeah, a 17 year old kid can't get a lease anyway. Just a typical wanna be jealous punk playing games. Nonetheless, you don't dare bash this car on this website without getting a few rippings of your own, even if you arent a troll.

Sorry for the shitty description i was in a hurry and havent been able to check back resently..as for the 17 yr old kid comment i am 17 but my parents leased the car for me..use your head. Also i dont even know if id say it stalled.. all i know is i let my 8 warm up for 7-10 minutes before leaving for work. On my way up a hill the engine just shut off..literally just shut off and would not restart. i sat there trying to get it to click or start up but it wouldnt. Eventually it started after about 20 minutes and making me late for work as i sat in the middle of the road not moving. this was with 1500 miles on the car and in the auto mode (not paddle shifting). now like i said i expected flaws with this new car and agree with every1 this happens on all cars..but to this degree this soon is ridiculous. I know no one wants to here their car isnt working for me..but i wanted advice, not ppl defending the 8 cuz they are that pothetic and obsessed with defending their purchase (sorry to those this does not apply to). i appreciate the advice and any future advice any1 can offer...other than stupid comments..i had never posted be4 because i had nothing to really comment on but have been viewing the site for about 3 months now. i own a at titanium gray 8.

Yeah, you're supposed to be a psychic here guys!!! :P Did everyone not know this?!? Hmm, did you also know that with a Lease, most states require higher limits on your insurance... this could make for VEEEEERY high teenage license premiums. (Personally, highly doubt this scenario)

Also i dont even know if id say it stalled.. all i know is i let my 8 warm up for 7-10 minutes before leaving for work. On my way up a hill the engine just shut off..literally just shut off and would not restart. i sat there trying to get it to click or start up but it wouldnt. Eventually it started after about 20 minutes and making me late for work as i sat in the middle of the road not moving. this was with 1500 miles on the car and in the auto
-It either stalled or it didn't. If it stopped running... I would say that is stalled.
-You say that you were on your way UP a hill, but a couple of sentences later you were in the middle of the road NOT MOVING. Law of Physics are at work here champ, can't lie about a little thing called GRAVITY.
-If it was clicking, it very well could have been your battery which is usually disconnected for shipping... but I have heard of new car's battery being dead. This is a SIMPLE fix and not a defect of the car per se.
-Obviously, as a responsible almost-adult, you have taken it to the dealer by now... so what did they say? This is A. Untrue story or B. It wasn't a bona fide defect of the car, so you just didn't post it, C. Your car obviously does not represent the majority in a defect conspiracy... or C. You haven't taken it to the dealer (in which case, you need IQ points and we can't help you with that!)

now like i said i expected flaws with this new car and agree with every1 this happens on all cars
THIS particular problem... NO, it doesn't happen on all cars!

defending the 8 cuz they are that pothetic and obsessed with defending their purchase
I don't know about being pOthetic, but yes I am obsessed about my 8! It isn't a piece of junk, therefore, I love it. I am defending my purchase because it is a wise decision. You want comments, well.. YOU GOT THEM. No one that has commented here is having your problem, so HOW can they tell you anything?!?

any future advice any1 can offer...other than stupid comments..i had never posted be4 because i had nothing to really comment on but have been viewing the site for about 3 months now. i own a at titanium gray 8.

I can give you advice just like everyone here has >>> GO TO THE DEALER! If we can't relate to you.. that doesn't mean we are narrow-minded idiots. It is because we aren't stupid and can work out problems. BUT after you go to the dealer, try coming back and telling us what they said... THEN, and only then, will you give yourself any credability with this forum instead of looking like a troll... and trust me, we've seen enough trolls and your first post is a classic example by being vague, short, and shotty.

It should be easy, tell Mommy and Daddy you don't want your car anymore. A Little crying, a little tantrum, Mommy and Daddy go get you a new Z convertable. Three months later the top doesn't go up fast enough making you late for the prom, Mommy and Daddy get you a Z-4. Oh, another pathetic story of an overindulged youth.

As an owner of and AT RX I can say that you do need to warm it up real well before getting on the gas pedal. You can feel the car going "nope, not yet, Don't even think about pressing that pedal." if you try to accelerate smartly (or apply a load) before the car is ready.

It sounds like you warm it up enough so that shouldn't do it. I would suggest taking it back to the dealer - have them upgrade your car to at least the 'M' flash and see what happens. Maybe go to the hotter plugs...

How many times has it done this?

Anyway, the recalls (I have only gotten one and that was done during a routine oil-change) shouldn't be a problem. All new cars get them.

If your dealer can fix the stalling problem then just drive the car...it is a pretty unique vehicle and has some oddities but it also makes you stand out in a crowd, and isn't that what we all want?

P.S. I did notice that you mentioned you were not in 'manual-shift' mode.

In the morning I usually do use the shifter to hold the trans into a decent gear before it totally warms up. The auto always tried to get into a much higher gear than I would like thus aggravating (sp?) the 'not-fully-warmed-up' condition. 30mph or less in 4th gear? Not good...

Anyway, take the car back to your dealer, explain the problem and have the 'M' done (take a copy of the 'M' TSB with you)...I would bet that will make you a bit happier.
