Renewing your appriciation

So i just got done parking my 8 for 6 days to install the aero kit, and was handed the privaledge of driving my 97 Probe for that time...

I don't know how much more i'd really have to elaborate, but getting back in the 8 tonight and simply driving to work was like driving off the dealer lot again! It's amazing how quickly you'll forget about all the issues everyone (including myself) have complained about before, and just love the car all over again.

Anyone else had an experience like this before? It's a simple thing, but really is amazing how much more you'll think of your 8.

What's wrong with the probe? I had a 95 GT and had a absolute blast with it. It had a lot of silly quirks as the 8 does, but both cars are just too much fun too really care about the little problems (low mpg/rattles in the cabin/fogged up tail light/oil consumption)

I was without my 8 for almost 3 weeks. I had to drive a lancer for that entire time, getting back into the 8 was great. You forget about how smooth it really is compared to other cars out there.

nothin wrong with the probe...it was my one and only car for 5 years. It was a great car, but it's going downhill so fast now that gravity can't even keep up with it.

The 8 was a Godsend in comparison :-)

I was without mine for a month... I was stuck driving our Pathfinder.
When I was able to drive it again, I'll never forget sliding into the seat and breathing in the leather smell. It was like day one again. And I hadnt smiled like that in what was probably exactly a month. What does Mazda say? Oh yeah. Rediscovering the emotion of motion.

And the Pathfinder runs like a tank, the 8 runs like its spinning silk.. that had NOTHING to do with it

I have a story.

Yesterday I was using my commuter car (2000 toyota MR2) and I wanted to pass this semi in front of me that was going 10 under. 2 lane road btw....

So I put it in third and take off after making sure the way was clear.
I max out third in 82 before I'm even half the way past the semi and have to shift into fourth. It took me FOREVER to pass one semi...

A week ago when I decided to take the 8 to work I passed a semi and a car behind it in much less time and never had to shift out of third.

I missed the 8 yesterday.
