Renesis size

I need help finding the approximate dimensions and weight of the renesis block. Thanks in advance.

I did a search, I found one thread close to this but no one answered.

you you should ask paul at mazmart. he could put a measuring tape to one and he probably has the weight from shipping one. check in the vendors section.

I vaguely recall some specs from one of the past threads... I think the entire engine was only around 250 lbs, and only 58cm high... length would be a little longer than height, but not by much...

Are you looking for the block ONLY? All of the housings, minus the rotors and eccentric shaft, etc?

Will look around and post if I find out anything more...

Block and the internals. Trying to fit this into a tight package, and the block is the only thing i can't change the shape of.

250 lbs is what a 1100 v-twin Honda Shadow motorcycle engine weighs in at. I'd love to see the renesis in a motorcycle. The power would be phenomenal.

Checking it out for a gsxr1000. I still have a lot of homework to do though. I figure the hardest part is getting a transmission.

I hate to say that I don't think this is feasible; as I am quite a staunch rotary supporter. Although this motor is lighter than the majority of production engines making similar power it is probably not nearly light enough to fit your needs. That's probably just the beginning of the reasons you wouldn't choose this motor. They also require tremendous cooling and this cannot be neglected. This is one of the reasons that there are no rotary motorcycles in current production.
The dressed weight I believe to be about 309lbs and the dimensions are about 26" in height, 20" in width, 23" in length. This is not naked, this is including the intake manifold and auxilliary port control valves and back to the clutch.
Best of luck to you whatever you decide to do. I do have these at reduced prices right now. Check with me if you like.
Paul.

I don't see why you couldn't make a renesis bike. They make bike's with GM 350ci smallblock v8's.

Don't get me wrong, it can be done and there are advantages: The supposedly low torque 13b MSP-RE puts out considerably more torque than most of the bikes and a whole lot more than the gsxr. From what I've heard the renesis can be tuned for close to 260hp without internal mods ( Flywheel that is).
Paul.

This is an interesting thought exercise -- building a vehicle around the Renesis

I've always had a strong desire to build a "component car," and a few years back I nearly took the plunge into purchasing a replica Cobra. Recently I've thought it would be really kewl to build up a component car around a rotary engine -- perhaps drop one into one of the smaller component car designs instead of, say, a 4-cylinder...

I vaguely recall a recent thread that advertised some sort of track car built around the Renesis...

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I'd love to see Renesis in a Lotus or a Civic del Sol.

I have a few measurements to take, but it sounds like I can physically jam it in the frame. As far as heat, bike engines make a bit of heat at 12500 rpm so I think the frontal area is there (sitting at lights may be a problem...), also with the way an engine is situated in the bike it gets air cooled at the same time. Anyone know the size of the stock radiator, and what safe temp range is? Weight wise basically it comes down to how much more the block weighs with internals than what I already have. It's probably going to lose the manifold, alternator is getting lost for something similar but smaller, loosing the fly wheel for something smaller, no pulleys or a belt. 309 is an intimidating number, around 200 sounds doable. Most likely I'll have to wait for suzuki to try the rotary again. I doubt they will anytime soon, it wont be allowed to race ama, and everyone seems content enough running an I4. Even though a bike company would have no problem making a rotary lighter than the I4, vibrate less, Spin up faster, have a higher rpm... The inherent advantages of this engine make so much sense to apply to a bike.

I thought there was a company out in California that was building rotary engines (small ones) to put into personal watercarft... Hang on a second...

Found it.
