Removing My Rear Badges

I have a '09 Velocity Red Mica 8 and I want to take off all the rear badges (Mazda, Mazda Logo & RX-8) to give it a cleaner look. Also, I want to tell people it's a special Mazda concept or something when they ask what it is. Haha.

Anyway, how hard is it to pull the badges off? Can I pry them off with my hands? Will they leave holes or are they just stuck on with tape? And, lastly, will they leave noticeable marks after I give it a wash and wax?

Thanks guys. I want to do this today in a couple hours. I'll post pics if I do it.

First off if you search you could find the answers you're looking for faster than making a thread about it.

But since you asked if you pull the badges off the trunk there will be holes behing the mazda logo and also the word that says mazda. The only badge you can take off without having holes there is the RX-8 badge. People wont know what car it is if thats all you want. And they are pretty noticeable holes.

If you're going to take it off the way I did it was to heat up the badge with a hairdryer just move it around and dont keep it on one spot too long. After its warm use a old credit card or something similar and slide it behind the badge to seperate the tape from the car or badge. You will have to use goo-gone to remove the tape thats left behind.

Edit: Just noticed you have an '09 im pretty sure there wont be a difference though.

Could I get the mazda badge from you? I'm looking to do some customizing of my badge since my last name is mazza.

Might not remove it if it's going to leave large holes. If I ever do I'll shoot you a message.

When I was trying to get a quote on replacing the head gasket in my T/A, a few mechanics asked what it was. Of course I didn't let them touch my T/A's engine and would never return for any other business, but if it can fool mechanics then I think it can fool a handful of other people.

You will want to take a dye grinder and to shave down the emblem. And to get rid of the holes, just cut the holes out. Problem solved

Just cut them out. OR! go here: http://www.chromeautoemblems.com/ and order yourself a custom emblem that says:

"This is a very special concept car so please do not ask me if it is an RX8"

nothing wrong with wanting a clean look
but you're not asking for that, you're asking how to remove emblems which has been covered to death... but then you're also asking how to put "experimental" on your car, which is sily

A quick search doesn't show anything about holes behind badges on Series 2's.

Where did I ask about putting "experimental" on it? I just appreciate the innovative styling Mazda put in the 8 and think it's funny when people ask about it. I wouldn't be serious. Just a touch of humor before actually revealing what it is.
