Recall question

First off car info:

2004
mazda rx8 GT package
7k miles on it
second owner
Aftermarket exsaults and air intake.
I baby the car and wont drive in the rain.
Runs like a champ.

Yes- search and read....Ok i got a letter from my mazdaNAO. Telling me they had a recall on my mazda 2004. The recall was powertrain warranty extention program ssp67 and emission recall 4206f. I just called my not so local dealer but closest one to me(30mins+). i told him i got these recalls letters and like to schedule appointment. I told him i got few other things i need him to handle too that covered under warrenty. A/c air temperature fluctuation and lack of. Also got my rear defrost button has a small crack. I also ask if i could recieve a loaner for the day since i have to go to work.

he ask me where i bought my car and i told not from you guys. He told me that was only for people who bought with them. I then said it stated that they supposed to give me a loaner if i bring it in. He said they changed that and they are going against that now. I want to find out where i can prove him wrong.

Also people saying they getting there car washed and a free tank of gas. I like to find the paper work on that since im figuring they wont give that to me. So if anyone can find out all this info i ll be greatly appriated.

first and second letter should help. as for having to go to the same dealer as the one that sold the car, that is an insane request. i'm certainly not driving 4 hours to the dealer that sold the previous owner my car. i'd speak to him again b/c he could be looking at some fines from MNAO if he doesn't do it.

zoom44 posted the dealer letter before. you can pm him or search for it.

Your dealership is full of ****. Against what policy ? They have no rights to go against Mazda's policy, they work for Mazda, simple as that.

At this time I think you might want to call MNAO and talk to them about this. there is NO reason for them to refuse any recall work, its a federal offence and you NEED recall to be done before you can renew your car's permit.

call MazdaNAO and tell them about your experience. and then go find another dealer.... even if it is farther away.

I would do this ^^^

Make sure MNAO is aware of this dealer's "policies" and then DO NOT take your baby to him. Go somewhere else...even if it's a farther drive.

the warranty won't show every part that is covered. take it in, it should be covered so long as you are still under 50K miles.

Mazda warranty is for all of north america. Mazda recall is for all of north america.

If they refuse you service, just dial MNAO's number and complain about the dealer. There is no right to refuse warranty or recall.

A recall should be registered federally and if they deny you RECALL they are subject to gigantic fines. how old are you?

They should fill up your tank, they drive it for 20 minutes and even let it idle for 30 more..

That is only if you mention that you have had problems.

lol. It is just a bad idea to even deal with a place that is going to be that shady. By "even if it is farther away" the response mean "even if it is 60 miles away instead of 10." Any place that is that slimy/shady should be avoided (and maybe destroyed).

Go a little farther (not to Hawaii, dumas) - you should get a full tank of gas to drive home on. Good luck.

name the dealership first off. second where in washington are you? third it is illegal for them to deny you recall service because you didnt purchase there. first thing to do is call that dealership back. ask tospeak to the service manager and ONLY the service manager. get his email if necessary. then tell him what you were told and by whom. if he sticks to that call mnao at 1800 222 5500. and also report back here.

I'm with zoom. Who and where? LOL

That is pretty ridiculous that they refuse to perform recall work. If they still refuse push a big issue out of it. Call MNAO to report it. Call the media if you have to. That way others will know about the kind of crap they pulled.

This is some serious BS bro, But I had a similar experience at a dealer in Texas(Jim Bass Mazda) when I lived there( they would service the car but not provide a loaner or rental cause i didnt buy from them) I blew them off cause I was mov'n anyways.

The Dealership I go to now in SC(Boyle Mazda) , (although still unsuccessful in fixing my LED display) has provided me with 5 rentals/loaners so far.

So it really is a matter of finding the right dealer; call MNAO, bitch at them, then find a better dealer.

well i decided not to go to them. I m taking a day off and heading to university Mazda which got excellent reviews and seemed more then helpful on the phone.

My age is 26. The place ive called and talked with is in burlington, wa (beleive the name is skagit Mazda). I beleive you guys are getting misleaded they didnt refuse to not do recall just not give me a loaner for the time and i didnt even bother asking about fillup and wash(like i trust them doing that).
