Recall, Engine Problems, lawsuits, class action, Sum it all up!

Facts are most Mazda Rx-8 owners in Extremely hot climates are angry at the Manufacturer and not just the dealers. The news of the month is that Mazda is performing a recall because of all the complaints. They are CHOOSING to do this recall (replace engine) because current lawsuits and class actions suits against Mazda. Also, if Mazda "chooses" to offer a recall before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration forces them to, then investigations into more serious matters of the vehicle are most likely not sought after. The funny thing to me is the timing of the recall, which I don't think anyone else has noticed. By the time the letters are sent out, your car is taking to the dealer, and then waiting for the new engine to arrive.....SURPRISE!!!! There is no extreme hot weather issues because it's almost winter time when you get your car back. Mark my words, I say it now and let these words be remembered. Next Summer, you're going to have some FURIOUS Rx-8 owners with the same issues as before.

I love the "I'll sues somebody" mentality of people nowadays. Can you say "looking for a cheap buck that I don't have to actually work for?" Mazda's doing it right and like he stated, take it in next spring/summer for the recall, but with your reasoning, even if you do it then, the summer 2 years from now, your screwed.

Maybe Mazda will replace the engines with LS6's. That'd keep people happy.

:D

not everyone loves the clicking of valves, the harsh vibrations of pistons, and a rev limiter at 6k

Exactly. If I had wanted all of that, I'd have gotten a pogo stick. Or maybe a Crossfire.

I think what he is trying to say is that people who have had or will have there Engines replaced will be frustrated or are frustrated. I know I was. But just look at the people that are going on Engine #3.

All is well for me now. I knew this car ran way hotter than Mazda had said. I was certain the Oil would boil. It was only a matter of time. I did not want to get heat for posting that. I had no conclusive evidence.
All in all I'm glad I have a 7 year warrenty and I love my car. On the other hand Mazda Dealer service sucks!. But Mazda cant change that.

You're all going to get a reflash to improve the engine, and if you need a new engine you'll get one. Also, you can thank mazda for increasing their warranty by 1 year and 10,000 miles.

I'd really like to see how a lawsuit will go down..
Increas you say?
