rear eccentric shaft seal leaking on new build

Hi guys been away for a while. ..was getting a bit of sideways action in with my 8...2004 manual
On long journeys ...sitting in traffic getting fumes in the cab...burning oil...
Steam cleaned the engine to narrow it down. ..engine spotless. ..narrowed it down to oil leak from between the bell housing /gearbox.
Its not gear oil. ..The oil filter housing /oil filler housing not leaking. ..
Oil pan not leaking
So im guessing that the rear eccentric shaft seal might be leaking. ..heating oil up..creating fumes.
Its only a weap ..but enough to make fumes ..
wouldn't care otherwise.
Its a fresh rebuild. ..one year old 2000 miles only. ..any reason why it could be leaking. ..
Rang specialist that built the engine. ..he said it 100 percent should not be leaking. New seals.hes the best in the country. .uses mazda parts...very trustworthy..happy to chat..
I left the engine out for a week under a tarp in heavy rain*(i wasn't expecting )with a dose of the flu...before i installed it. ..could i have been too rough installing the engine. ..explained this to specialist. .he said it shouldn't have been a problem.
She is running absolutely perfect. .run in . perfectly. ..I've thrown in some seal treatment against my better judgement on the basis that its only a tiny leak...specialist said it shouldn't be a problem as long as a give extra time to let engine warm up.....
Going to pull starter motor to confirm oil leak in bell housing in the next few days. .have a peek in the starter motor apeture.if no improvement ill pull the gearbox and replace the seal...this is a pain in the ***...anyone any ideas to avoid the heap of hours to pull the transmission.why would a freshly built engine with all new seals leak from the rear eccentric shaft..it only leaks while running
I've scoured the forum. ..seated to shallow. Too deep/etc...i think the speciallist has far too much experience for a mistake like that...only thing i can think off. ..rust around /corrosion around flywheel contact area with oil seal as a result of being left out . Imperfect seal...other thing is its only driven once a week. .maybe les..seal gone dry?..thanks in advance guys

You're right, it shouldn't be leaking.

Either the part failed or the rebuilder failed.

I'd be complaining to the builder and getting him to back his product. Even the best in the world make mistakes and the big difference is in how they deal with those mistakes.

^^ I agree with the above. A reputable builder should correct the mistake.
