Eccentric Shaft Pulley Seal Leak

Has anyone else had this problem? The dealer near me says it will be about 1400.00 to repair.

I haven't had this problem with an rx8, but i've had rear main seals leak on piston engines.

Is it the rear seal that's leaking?

if its "rear oil seal" you have to remove the transmission, flywheel (MT) (or driveplate -AT)

Nope, they say its the front seal, right above the oil pan gasket. They say it a really small leak. The only way they were able to find it was when they noticed some oil on the oil pan. I was having it inspected to make sure everything was ok with it. It has about 70k on it.

Mine leaks on the track...when it's at high RPM's and hot for a long time....

I replaced the seal and it still does it a bit...It isn't much...so I just leave it alone...not likely to become a big problem fast

The dealership is saying because I am not the original owner, the warranty will not cover my car.

I thought that only including rotary "core components". This seems like something that would be excluded from the core. I could be wrong though.

Bitch, raise hell and then bitch some more. You can't just void a warranty because the car is sold...
