rear door trim protectors?

rear door trim protectors?

are these really necessary????

I put mine where the driver/passenger seatbelt sits(like on the door); I noticed some rubbing there on both sides so I fugred the investement was good.

I put them on mine as I figured that if young children try to shut the rear door before the front door (from the outside of the car) at least the inner rear door trim will be protected

Sorry, I just read my reply and I worded it wrongly. Should say:

If the rear door is shut after the front door.........

I agree with JoeB it is child and idiot proof...
