So i tried researching and nothing useful nor the answer but i am having the strangest issue with my license plate connecting to my rear bumper.
somehow my 2 year old managed to rip my plate off...... and well long story short there is a tab thats broken on the inside..... look at the pictures attached to see what i mean

 

Yeah, that can often be a problem. There are a few solutions, but none of them are really ideal, since the plastic bit that is damaged is molded into the bumper. A new bumper is obviously not cost effective, and bolting the license plate with nuts on the inside is viable, if you can get your hand up behind that part of the bumper without taking the whole bumper off.

 

think one of the U clips will work? my main concern is that if i did that, when i go to change my license plate the nut bolt clip might just fall into the bumper.............. what about super glue lol?

One of those nylon nuts that expands when you put the screw in - like a drywall anchor - should work. If there's an Advance Auto or Autozone or similar store nearby they usually have a rack of odd hardware for problems like this.

A molly bolt comes to mind, but I don't know if they come that big. Or in a weatherproof material.

Check your local parts store..their is a plastic sleeve for this..
It's should be in plates accessories..

 

Molly bolt is an expanding anchor usually used for hanging stuff on drywall. But a plastic piece, like the nylon ones on that web site, is what you really need. Best to measure the size of the hole, then browse at a parts store.

Your 2 year old's earnings in the next Iron Man competition should more than cover the cost.
