R3 with no Recaros on ebay...
Was cruising around ebay and noticed this blue '09 R3 with only 8k miles has everything an R3 should have except the front and rear seats. The door panels, steering wheel, center rest all have the red stitching. And they are the sport seats at that, not even leather or power. Wonder what the story is there, its so new. The description mentions nothing of it.
Here are pics for posterity..

Some unsuspecting buyer is going to get screwed.

yea, about a gigs worth. The Mazda can do anything it can do, better....except gas mileage & attention, D gets mid 20s on regular and can't get gas without hear a lame Back To The Future joke from somebody at the pump.
+1. You trade the leather power GT seats for them. This car doesn't even have those.
Hopefully whoever seeks out an R3 is probably an enthusiast, and does research before buying a car like that. I know I had most of the specs memorized before I even saw one at a dealer, and saw more photos and videos on youtube then I could count before buying one.

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!
Some dealerships doesn't even check the whole car nor opening the hood of the engine bay. They just wanted for you to sign the dotted line and buy their vehicles. One of my friends car that he traded has 4 mismatched tires and they didn't even notice that. Would you buy a vehicle with 4 mismatched tires? Probably, some will, but that's what i meant about some dealerships.

I like the DeLo for some of the same reasons I like the RX8. They are unique.

As others have said, it looks like the previous owner really did a "smart" move and sold/traded the seats with another RX-8 that really wanted the Recaros. Now we need to find if somebody here on the forum recently bought a used set of Recaros, LOL!!
In reality, seems like whoever bought the car (ebay seller) didn't do her/his research. Even a quick Google search would have shown what an RX-8 R3 is, and what it should have.
Now, this could mean a potential $$$$$ of savings for a smart buyer. Although I would not buy an R3 without the Recaros on an impulse, I would certainly negotiate the price down to what it would cost to put them in. And as we all know, those Recaros aren't cheap by any means.

Possible but very unlikely.

I was looking at buying those seats as backups for my car. But someone got them today before I could.
Turns out just the leather covers for one front seat in the R3 are over $4,700.00 from Mazda.
